Last December I took my first trip to Honduras. It was a four day trip that I along with several others from my church took to attend the Jesus Banquet at the "Dump". For me, this was a LIFE CHANGING experience. During this time my eyes were opened to the way that people outside of the states live. The poverty, sickness, and the need for Christ there was astonishing. How had I been so blind to all of this? Did I not care? Had I never taken the time to look outside of my own little world? Had I been so caught up in the "American Life," that I never considered the seriousness of devastation and poverty world-wide?
My eyes were opened to so much; my heart has been forever changed. After experiencing all that I did this past December, Christ has placed a heavy, heavy burden in my heart for the women and children of Honduras....and Africa, but that is for another time! What I saw and experienced last December is not something that I can forget or look past or ignore. I was blind to all that was actually going on around the world but now I know. It is my hearts desire to serve these precious people. I am looking for all that God has in store for my upcoming trip!!! I cannot wait to get my hand on the orphans there and just share Christ's love!
Here are a few pictures from the December trip-
